Student Scholarships
Up to six scholarships (valued at $400 each) will be awarded to qualified students to help defray the cost of attending the 2009 SBSE Summer Retreat. Each scholarship will allay most of the on-site retreat costs including 3 nights lodging (double-occupancy) and breakfasts. Jeffrey Cook Memorial Scholarship
In honor of the late Jeffrey Cook, a $500 scholarship will be offered to a faculty member from a developing country to help defray the costs of attending the 2009 SBSE Summer Retreat. The award will be based primarily on the benefits of the scholarship to the applicant’s institution and country. The scholarship is to be used to defray the costs of the SBSE membership for 2009—2010, retreat registration, lodging (double-occupancy), and transportation. Scholarship recipients will be notified by March 23, 2009, after which they must register for the retreat on or before April 1, 2009, to ensure a place at the retreat.
