advanced standing applicants

home/prospective students/undergraduate admissions/advanced standig applicants

Students wishing to apply for Advanced Standing, i.e. those having partially completed a Professional Degree in Architecture at another insitution, must apply in writing to the Undergraduate Officer to initiate the process. Students who are enrolled in other disciplines, ie. NOT in a professional Architecture degree program, or students studying in Technical Colleges of Architecture, must apply to Year One for fall admission only. The School will need copies of Official Transcripts, course outlines (fully translated), and samples of work to initiate the process. Transfer credits will only be assessed if an offer of admission is made. For a transfer credit to be allowed as a replacement for a core course, equivalency must be determined. To see what our core program looks like, please refer to this program chart.

The applicant may be invited for an interview. Advanced Standing applicants must also write the English précis test. Acceptances as well as level of entry will depend on the quality of the applicants as well as space available. Applications for advanced standing should be made to the Undergraduate Officer, Terri Meyer Boake. If a student is accepted for advanced standing, the starting term will vary on a case by case basis as a function of transfer credits assigned. As ours is a cooperative education degree, and we follow a different academic/work sequence structure, advanced standing admissions will have a very complex curriculum and set of courses to take as a function of the range of courses that have yet to be completed.
