DRAMA 363 Stage Combat 9:30 am - 12: 30 pm - Level 3A & Instructor Consent
Architecture has no say in whether or not you can enroll in the above classes. You must check with the appropriate department to obtain consent.
If you already have transfer credits from a previous university degree, you may use these and elect to skip taking an elective this term.
Ital 155 - Italian Language is not being offered during the Winter term.
The course has been moved to the Fall 3B term in order to be taught closer
to the Rome term. The former two Italian courses, ITAL 101 and 102 have
been merged into a single course.
Arch 385_001 - Working With Wood (FULL)
Arch 385_002 - Architectural Typology
Arch 384 - Competition Elective
Please look at the available competitions on the website. You must select a specific competition and email Terri Boake with your selection to initiate the course override. If the competition is not to be physically submitted until after the winter term, we need to discuss issues of timing as an INC grade = MNP at the end of term.
Arch 385 - Independent Design Build
This build requires that you complete a minimum of two weeks of VOLUNTEER construction work, plus create a web based report on the work.
Arch 385 - Architectural Research Course
Students must
be in EXCL standing (cum. avg higher than 80%) with no outstanding academic
deficiencies to be eligible for this opportunity to conduct INDEPENDENT Research. This is NOT a lecture format course. Please look at the attachments
linked to the above course title to find out more about this course. It is
quite involved. It is something that the student creates. It requires an override that will only be granted by the Undergraduate Officer when the student has a outline, supervisor, bibliography and scope of work approved and in place. Students may take only ONE research course or competition during their BAS degree.
Distance Education Electives
Students may fulfill their elective requirements by taking a Distance Education
course. As with any of our electives, they do not need to be taken at
a specific "level". You may take 100 and 200 level courses during any term. DE courses taken during an academic term will not incur
extra tuition. DE courses taken during a work term will automatically
tally towards your degree but will require the payment of a course fee. Distance Education Exams are December 13, 14.
REMINDER: UW charges tuition on a TERM basis. If your are over or under the normal load during any term, the tuition amount remains the same. There is no financial saving.
